James is the man on the left, I’m guessing ca. 1925

James Riley “Jim” BINGHAM was born in Uvalde County Texas on 14 December 1876 to Thomas and Mary (CANTRELL) BINGHAM.  His parents divorced before James was 4 years old, and he lived with his father.  James’s mother remarried two more times.

Jim died in 1933.  According to the family, Jim was laid-back and easy-going, never yelled at his children, told funny stories, and was a lot of fun.  “Grandma Meedie” was the backbone of the family and saw to it that things got done.

In Caldwell County Texas, Jim married Flora Almeda “Meedie” BRUMMETT, daughter of  James Logan BRUMMETT and Ella (HANDSEL)  BRUMMETT.  Flora was born in Lockhart, Texas on 10 February 1887.  She remarried to Andrew Jackson CANTWELL after James died.  Flora died 25 June 1958 in Williamson County Texas after being hit by a truck while crossing the highway in front of her house, on Route 1 in Round Rock.  She was crossing the highway to get her mail.
