The Davis Girls

Ethel DAVIS (28 December 1921 – 29 December 1921) was in 1964 transcription; stone cannot be found now.  On her death certificate, Ethel’s parents were listed as William Norris and Ruth (JACKSON) DAVIS (informant:  Dr. Stevens).  I cannot find a Ruth JACKSON born ca 1882 in Texas, who married a DAVIS.   However, the nearest match that I can find is in the 1920 Williamson County Texas census:  “Morris” and Ruth DAVIS.  Morris was born in Texas ca. 1884; Ruth was born in Texas ca. 1882.  LB (Levi B) ASHER (widowed father-in-law born c. 1855 in Texas) was enumerated with the family.  Therefore, until I can find otherwise, I believe the parents of Ethel DAVIS were Perry Morris and Ruth (ASHER) DAVIS.  The discrepancies can perhaps be explained due to the fact that the informant was not a family member.  Interesting, but doesn’t bring us any closer to finding the approximate location of the stone.

Blanche Marie Davis, 23 October 1917 – 5 January 1931, tombstone missing in 1964, however description of location given in 1964 transcription (source unknown), marker placed 2010.  Blanche’s parents were Arthur and [Julia] Maud (LEE) DAVIS.  Blanche is buried in the LEE section of Pond Springs Cemetery.  Arthur was born in Tennessee ca. 1892/1893.  [Julia] Maud was born in Texas in June of 1893.  They were married ca. 1912.  [Julia] Maud’s parents were George W. and Sallie LEE.  [Julia] Maud’s brothers were Jesse O. LEE and Roy G. LEE, and her sister was Bessie (LEE) GADDY, who are also buried in Pond Springs Cemetery.

There appears to be no relation between these two girls.
