The Longs and the Olivers

Jesse/Joseph Blaze Jefferson OLIVER was born in Georgia 20 December 1811, died Travis/Williamson County Texas 16 December 1895.  On 30 January 1842, in Randolph County Georgia, he married Parrisade PUGH, born 1825 in Georgia, died 28 April 1887 Travis/Williamson County Texas.  Both buried Pond Springs Cemetery.

Known child of JBJ and Parrisade (PUGH) OLIVER:

1.  John R. OLIVER, born in Georgia ca. 1844

ii.  Julia Ann OLIVER, born in Georgia ca. 1846

iii.  Emily “Emma” Victoria OLIVER, born in Georgia ca. 1848.  Interestingly, Emily married Stockley Asbury ENOCHS, the stepson of Mary Catherine Murdock Glenn Enochs who is felt to be Unknown 26 in Pond Springs Cemetery.

iv.  George W. OLIVER, born in Texas ca. 1850

v.  Susan Catherine “Kate” OLIVER, born in Texas December 1853.  Married William Obed RUTLEDGE.  One of their children, “Infant Rutledge” is buried in Pond Springs Cemetery with the Long and Oliver Families.

vi.  Mary E. OLIVER, born in Texas 3 December 1857, died 20 August 1890.  Buried Pond Springs Cemetery.

vii.  Willis Ann “Willie” OLIVER, born 10 November 1862, died 13 December 1892.  Willie married William Franklin LONG (1859-1936).  Both are buried Pond Springs Cemetery.

William Franklin LONG and Willie Ann OLIVER were married on 6 October 1881 in Williamson County.  They had seven children, including two sets of twins, before Willis died at the age of 30, possibly in childbirth with the “Infant Long” that is buried in Pond Springs Cemetery (see below).   After Willis’s death, William married Almira Lena ALLMAN as her third husband.  Lena died in 1908 and is also buried in Pond Springs Cemetery.

Known children of William Franklin and Willie Ann (OLIVER) LONG:

i.  Jesse Jefferson LONG, born in Texas 4 May 1885, married Mae WALDEN.

ii.  Joseph Blackburn LONG, twin of Jesse, born in Texas 4 May 1885, married Martha Adelia SMITH.

iii.  George E. LONG, born in Texas 9 January 1887, died of Typhoid in Williamson County Texas 7 August 1909.  Buried in Pond Springs Cemetery.

iv.  Emma LONG, born in Texas 3 January 1888, married William ALLMAN, undoubtedly related to Emma’s step-mother.

v.  Julia Mae LONG, twin of Emma, born in Texas 3 January 1888.  Married Theodore Houghton HEATON.  Died 2 November 1979.  The Houghtons and the Heatons are also buried in Pond Springs Cemetery.

vi.  Edna D. LONG, born in Texas September 1890.

    Emily “Emma” Oliver and Stockley Enochs are my great great grandparents. Do you have any information on JBJ Oliver and Parrisade Pugh’s parents?
