Cemetery Projects for the Winter

Here is a list of some of the winter projects. People interested in helping can contact us . People with experience in any of the work to be performed their help will be appreciated. – Buster

Cemetery Projects for the Winter

1. Reset or Build New Headstone Bases:
John Franklin – base needs leveling, removal of the old cement and gluing of headstone to the base (In poison ivy zone).
Elizabeth Booker – needs new base built and headstone set into new base.
Vivian & Eula Henry – needs new base built and headstone set into base.
Lavinia Chapman – base needs to be leveled and headstone glued to base.
W. M. Chapman – base needs to be leveled and headstone glued to base.
John & Pinkie Ward – needs new base made or old base reinforced somehow. Glue the sections together.
Bird Ward – needs to be raised out of the ground so it can be read.
Susan C. McClure – needs to be raised out of the cement slab somehow. Will be difficult.
Beck Children – base needs to be leveled (In poison ivy zone).

2. Headstones To Repair:
Susan Gault – needs filler epoxy to repair. Needs drilling and re-enforcement with rods. Afterward needs base built for the stone.
Anderson’s “Mother” and “Father” – both need gluing repair and drilling to reinforce with rods to be secured into the grave slab.
Laura Campbell – needs drilling to repair with re-enforcement rods and bottom needs to be cut level as to be set onto the slab.
Green McClure – needs drilling to re-enforce with rods to set into the slab.
Nancy Ellen McClure – needs drilling, re-enforcement, and cutting to level to set to slab.
Benn Franklin – needs drilling, re-enforcement, and use of filler epoxy.
Mary Jackson –  made of pink granite. This needs filler epoxy that can be dyed pink as there are large pieces missing. Not sure at this time about drilling and re-enforcement with rods.

3. Paint Private Plot Fences:
Elizabeth Booker
J. & W. Brooks
G. & N. McClure
P. & A. Stewart
L. & N. Stewart
Unknown Grave
Possibly Anderson Plot

4. Clean and Wash Headstones:
Decided on by the cemetery committee only on an as needed basis.              See these sites below if you are interested in assisting in the future:

5. Rake and bag leaves.

6. Regular Maintenance:
Pick up Trash
Poison Ants
Keep Shopping Carts Pushed Away From The Cemetery
Keep Grave Slabs Swept Off

7. Pick up fallen limbs and stack on cut piles of wood. Remove stacks of cut wood and haul off or mulch.

8. Remove dead stumps near front fence of the cemetery.
