Names without a Stone: Pleasant Randolph “Ples” ELLER

Honestly, I think I know where Pleasant ELLER is buried:  Next to his wife Mamie.  She died young, Pleasant never remarried, and in my opinion that speaks volumes about the man.  I have no doubt that his is the unmarked stone next to her.  But here goes….

Pleasant Randolph ELLER, the oldest child of James T and Laura Caroline (WOODY) ELLER, was born  29 March 1882/1883 in Williamson County Texas.  His WWI Draft Registration gives his birthdate as 29 March 1874.  He died 3 May 1969 in Temple, Bell County Texas.  Per his death certificate he is buried in Pond Springs Cemetery.  He married Mamie Beatris JOHNS 16 May 1915 in Travis County Texas.  Mamie was the daughter of Sylvester and Elizabeth Dee (MOORE) JOHNS; she was born 14 June 1900 and died 24 April 1932 in Williamson County Texas.

Known children of Pleasant and Mamie (JOHNS) ELLER:

i.  Ora ELLER, born in Williamson County Texas 24 May 1916, died of Malaria 27 September 1920 in Burleson County Texas.  Buried in Hix Cemetery.  JE Phegley informant on death certificate.

ii.  Leona ELLER, born in Texas ca. 1923.

iii.  Clara ELLER, born in Texas ca. 1927.

If you can shed more light on the exact burial of Pleasant, please contact this blog.

  1. My aunt is almost positive that Ples is buried next to Mamie.
