And the Bronze Medal Goes To:

Lavina Hyland Chapman

(1844-1929)

Citizen of the Republic of Texas

Many thanks to Shirley, descendant of Lavina and William Chapman, for obtaining the bronze medallion from the State of Texas.  This is really something to be proud of.  Also many thanks to Bruce and Ken for attaching it so beautifully.

We had to let it dry for several hours.

Still drying.

Finis !

Beautiful.

You and I must be related as these are my mother’s Chapmans. Been looking for them for over 20 years with limited resources. I tried the Ponds Springs Historical Society’s website to contact you but was given a message that it no longer exists!

So with that said, I contact you here. William M Chapman would be my mothers grandfathers Father. William Jefferson Chapman has been an elusive character to track. the wedding license and handwritten cert. lists as grooms parents William M. Chapman and Mary E. Maloy.

    • Hello! Actually I am unrelated to everyone buried here! BUT I will forward your email to the Chapman descendants!
